French Post-War Painting
This modern French painting is a cheerful eye-catcher. The vibrant colors and their soft intertwining are feminine in appearance yet powerful in expression. The color scale ranging from dark grey to bright orange makes it an interesting and playful match to almost any wall color.

The artist was a French art student before he became a man of the Second World War resistance. After the liberation, he dedicated himself to art and would during the early 1950’s share a workshop with Pablo Picasso. The painting takes an abstract expressionistic style where compositions and colors are vivid and not directly translatable to you.
The painting is signed and dated at the front lower right of the canvas. The oil painting is painted on carton paper which is then laid on top of the canvas. The painting carries a minimalistic styled new bespoke frame made in white-painted pine wood, which is designed to subtly complement the vibrant expression in the painting.
